QUEER AS FOLK: NEW ALBUM & UK/IRE TOUR, AUTUMN 2018

Copenhagen Songwriters' Festival brings the biggest and busiest summer of my life to a close

Hello dear friends! What a summer 2018 has brought me. I have been lucky enough to find myself on stages from Nova Scotia to Copenhagen, and everywhere, including the Edinburgh Playhouse and Cambridge Folk Festival, in between. I have had a tremendously busy and fulfilling festival season that has been exhausting and exhilarating in equal measure. If you came to a show this summer, thanks for your support and for making it such a joyous couple of months for me.

I Made An Album

If you thought I might rest now, then it sucks to be you and indeed me, because no sooner am I returned from Denmark am I embarking on sending out hundreds of envelopes containing my NEW BLOODY ALBUM, pals! Earlier this year my Kickstarter campaign was very successfully funded and would you believe it, I've only gone and made the record. QUEER AS FOLK is available to PRE-ORDER NOW from HERE and also on the iTunes and it will be released on September 14th 2018.

I Made A Video

Yes I did, a video was made for Black Tie, the lead single from my new album, which is all about reclaiming your inner dapper butch style and shrugging off whatever expectations society has of you to wear or look or be anything at all. I am very grateful to Eric Revill-Dews of Bigger Boat Film for doing such a great job, and to the young people involved in the video, and most of all to Caitlin Field, Hannah James, Zoe Stewart, and Jasmine Kennedy who endured miming this song until their ears were almost bleeding. The video, which contains me ironically wearing a pink dress which has gone down a treat, can be seen here:

I'm Going On Tour

Because there is no rest for the wicked and I am nothing if not determined to ensure that the UK has absolutely had enough of me before too long, I'm taking off on an extensive UK and Ireland tour this October, singing songs from my new album as well as Classic Grace Petrie Hits 2005-2018. Please come and see me at one of these shows:

Greenbelt, Priddy Folk Festival, Solas and more...

Hi friends!

Happy springtime to you and I hope that you are all enjoying the brief pockets of seasonal weather in between repeated episodes of winter that keep reappearing like Star Wars sequels.

I have been busy on the road since way back in the autumn, having completed a quite irrational 5 tours in 5 months. I am celebrating the end of that by announcing MY SPRING TOUR!

ONE FINE MAY

Coming up in May I'll be touring the UK as far down as Southampton, as far up as Kirkcaldy, and a good many places in between, including many that I've never headlined before! Deal, Durham, Trowbridge, what do you say? Can we make it work??? Details are on the GIGS page and here is a lovely picture:

FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

It's getting to that time of year again when we all dig out the tent, dust off our wellies and prepare for a Labour leadership challenge, and that can mean only one thing: summer is on the way. I am delighted to be playing a lovely selection of perfectly-formed festivals including - by very, very popular demand - a return to wonderful GREENBELT! It has been 2 years since I was last there and I have loads of new material and my band in tow, so that will be a very special show and I can't wait to be back.

Also announced today is UNDERNEATH THE STARS festival, near Barnsley, Solas festival in Scotland, Priddy Folk festival down in Somerset, Barking festival (which is FREE!) and I am delighted to be returning once more to Cumbria back to Music on the Marr. All links and tickets can be found up on the Gigs page - I hope to catch some of you down the road.

Today I start recording yet another album! But more on that story later...

For now, wishing you chocolate filled Bank Holidays and Good Fridays and a happy spring,
