Coming up...
/Hello friends!
Thank you for all of your lovely comments about the Now show performance from last month. Once again I was very nervous in the doing of it but overwhelmed with the lovely response to it so thank you once again for taking the time to listen and to comment. The song as many of you are asking WILL be available soon - but as a download only at this time I'm afraid, since I bloody well just made a CD about five minutes ago.
The Shambles tour with Josie Long and Robin Ince has finally come to an end, although like Voldemort's first downfall I suspect there is reason to believe it may well re-surface one day, just when you've all got used to feeling safe. An enormous thanks to everyone who came out to see us all over the country and, of course, the biggest thanks of all to the pair of them for having me along for the ride.
Onwards now to the spring! Next month I will be in London, Belfast and Birmingham celebrating International Women's day with the lovely leftie folk of those places. For info on tickets go to the GIGS page, but I especially urge you all to book for the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club show here: IWDunplugged to avoid disappointment. It will be the Benefits' Culture's first band show of 2014, and we intend to make it a good'un.
Finally for those of you who don't know, I have been working on writing the music for my friend and esteemed colleague John-Luke Roberts' new one-man play, The Incredible One Man Pandemic. It premieres this Tuesday at The Vaults, Waterloo, for a 5 night run and will feature all new songs from me and lots of funny, heart-warming stuff from him.
I hope to catch you at some of these exciting ventures over the next few weeks. In the mean time, peace and love and solidarity be with you all, and as always, thanks for sticking with me.
