LEFTFIELD Line-up announced for Glasto, and so begins a summer of non-stop gigs
/Hey up folks, hope everyone out there reading this is enjoying the sunshine that is daring to become fairly frequent. Hooray for summer! And, of course, for the festival season.
The LEFTFIELD line-up has been announced, and you can spot me on the poster below at 6pm Sunday night. I am unreasonably excited about it. I’ll also be doing a set in the Acoustic Field of Glasto this year as well. Woohoo!
The lovely Tom Robinson played Farewell to Welfare again on his 6Music show last weekend, you can listen to it (for a limited number of days) on BBC iPlayer here. Don’t worry if you miss it, as I’ll be on Tom’s show in a few weeks’ time talking to him about Glasto and my other adventures over the summer.
Last weekend I played the fantastic Friends of Mine festival at Capesthorne Hall, which I thoroughly enjoyed - this was its first year and I’m looking forward to seeing it return in 2012. Thanks to all who watched me and were so supportive, and to everyone else who made the weekend such good fun.
The launch party of Tell Me A Story at The Soundhouse, Leicester was also an amazing night and the most I’ve enjoyed a gig, or a night out, in a very long time. Thanks to the Mercury’s Omar Mohamed for a very complimentary write-up of the night which you can read here. Massive thanks also the lovely John Helps who reviewed Tell Me A Story for The Monograph very kindly indeed, the review can be found here.
And so begins a crazy summer of gigs galore which I cannot wait to embark upon. Emmy the Great has very kindly asked me to open a further 2 dates of her tour, which means that as of Saturday 28th May I will be doing 9 gigs in 14 days across Manchester, Sheffield, Off the Tracks festival at Castle Donnington, Leicester and London. To find out where you can catch me at any of these check the gigs page, and if you’d like me to play in any of these places while I’m in the neighbourhood then, as always, feel free to drop me a line at grace@gracepetrie.com.
Finally, I will be taking to the studio again soon to get 3 new tracks down, and hopefully a new video will also follow shortly, so stay tuned for all of that and more to come in the next few weeks.
Thanks for all of those who’ve gotten in touch recently to say they’ve enjoyed seeing me play, it is wonderful to hear - and keeps me going on the nights when no one turns up!
